Fatigue Management - Don Arthur, M.D., Rider Length: 90 min, 8:00am - 9:30am
Our very own Dr. Arthur will discuss various aspects of safe riding with an
emphasis on motorcycle and rider preparation, riding safety, the effects and
management of fatigue, common medical issues which concern riders, and rally
strategies which enhance safety and improve performance.
Prepping the Watt-Challenge Bike for Long Distance Riding - Dale Wilson, IBA Chief Technical Inspector Length: ~ 75 min, 9:30 - 10:45
Discussion of the overall approach to prepare a Long Distance Rally bike having a modest electrical system. Topics covered include: how to calculate how much "spare" electrical reserve is available. Monitoring the electrical system while underway. How to reduce the largest electrical draws: auxiliary lighting and heated clothing. Utilizing HID and LED light systems. Ends with question/answer period.
From Russia, With Love - Bob Higdon, IBA Moto-Journalist Length: ~ 90 min, 11:00p - 12:30p In the summer of 2004 Mike Kneebone, Bob Higdon, John Sartorius, and
Steve Attwood rode across the width of Russia and Europe from Sakhalin Island to the Atlantic ocean. Some rides produce fond memories that last a lifetime and tales of glory that become the stuff of legend. This is not that trip.

- Workshop (S3): Rally Scoring Procedures
- Tom Austin, Iron Butt Rally Scoring Coordinator Length: ~ 90 min, 3:15pm - 4:45pm
This session will be focused on rally scoring procedures from the
perspective of both the rallymaster and rally staff and from the perspective
of a rider. It will include numerous examples of the most common mistakes
made on both sides of the scoring table.
