CHICAGO Saturday, May 3, 2014 6 to 9 pm - Meat Lovers RTE and Meat Lovers 1000 Ride-in - an insane excuse to cook a pile of bacon and sausage - its worth the ride!

An extreme joke requires an extreme response! When Jonathan "Hammy" Tan suggested via a Facebook posting that a Chicago favorite, an obscene five pounds of ground sausage, pork and beef mixed with spices and wrapped in a weave of brown sugar bacon, and then slow cooked on a pig roaster sounded like a fun excuse for a visit, well, who were we to argue! In a matter of hours, a new ride-in was created to sample this extreme food by an insane group of riders!

The IBA is holding an informal dinner in Chicago, Illinois on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 6 to 9 pm.

The cost is $39.14 and includes an all you can eat Meat Lovers feast in a local Chicago diner famous for great Chicago food. This is not a Veggie lovers place to eat (but we do have plenty in Chicago - visit www.veggiebucks.com if you are so inclined). It is for someone who wants to feast on Chicago's best diner food as a reward for a long ride-in.

Unfortunately, there will NOT be any last minute tickets available - detailed restaurant information will be sent shortly after registration.

The menu includes an on-site cook so we are not eating food prepared hours in advance:

Meat Lovers Omelet
Meat Lovers Wrap (kind of an omelet but in a wrap - it is totally obscene)
Bacon covered Meatloaf with mashed potatoes
Gyros - a must have Chicago treat!
Chicken Breast Sandwich
1/2 pound monster burgers
Water (but this is Chicago tap water - some of the best in the world!)
A cash bar for Beer and a few assorted drinks - nothing fancy, this is a Chicago diner NOT a bar.

We have a dedicated parking lot - a rare treat inside the city.

And for those that ride in and do more than 1,000 miles in 24 hours, a special certification will be presented after dinner by IBA President Michael Kneebone (there is NO additional cost for this certification - your certification fee is being paid for by a donor supporting your insanity). There are two versions of the ride:

The Meat Lovers 1000 for anyone riding in and doing 1,000 miles in 24 hours.

Meat Lovers 1000

The Meat Lovers 1000 SILVER for anyone who rides out to our Iron Butt Iowa marker and takes a photo of themself and their motorcycle in front of the Iron Butt Iowa sign during their ride-in. This is a selfie that really counts.

1929 Stagecoach Road - Webster City Iowa

This is a small Chicago Diner, space is extremely limited.

To register for the Meat Lovers dinner (and ride), visit www.ironbuttrecords.com, create an account (note: the registration system uses the Paypal engine that allows you to pay many different ways: Visa/Mastercard/AmEx/Discover) and then follow the link to Meat Lovers RTE. Registration is $39.14.

NOTICE: IF YOU ARE ALSO DOING THE MEAT LOVERS 1000 your certification fee is being paid for by a donor supporting your insanity. Hopefully he will be on-site to present your certification personally along with IBA President Michael Kneebone. Please send a note to mkneebone@gmail.com with a google map link of your proposed ride-in and what motorcyle you will be riding. MAKE SURE MIKE responds to your email so we have your certification ready.

IMPORTANT: Due to financial commitments, the refund deadline for the Meat Lovers dinner is April 15, 2014. After that date, your entry fee is allocated to the party - all we can do is thank you for your contribution to make the party possible..

For those looking for good, safe, quality hotels in the area, avoid Chicago. Instead, Oakbrook, Illinois, 18 miles and about 20 minutes west of our dinner location offers reasonable rates. Hotwire.com shows several 3 star hotels for as low as $47 per night in the Lombard-Oakbrook-Downers Grove map.
