Background:

Ultimate North America Insanity is a motorcycle ride connecting designated cities located at extreme corners of North America, ending at a commemorative location in Colorado. This ride is based on one created by Dick Fish as a memorial to his close friend, Jim Young, who died in 2001 during a rally near Paradox, Colorado.

The specific cities are:
  • Prudhoe Bay, Alaska, USA
  • Inuvik, Yukon, Canada
  • Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada
  • Key West, Florida, USA
  • Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico
  • Paradox, Colorado, USA
There is a time limit for completion of the ride.

The iconic SaddleSore 1000, is described on the Iron Butt Association website. The rules for that ride are similar, and valuable relevant information is provided there.

DBR - Dated Business Receipt

A DBR is a machine generated receipt with the date, time and LOCATION on it.  Check it - do not assume it is correct.  A receipt with an incorrect time/date/location is worthless.  Check and re-check.

Rules:

You must complete the Ultimate North America Insanity GOLD ride in less than 30 days.

You must start your ride at Prudhoe Bay, proceed to the specified cities in listed order, and finish at Paradox. You may choose any route that meets these requirements.  Depending on the weather, there are shorter routes between Prudhoe Bay and Inuvik.

You must obtain a Dated Business Receipt (DBR) at the start and end of your ride, and at each intermediate city, as well as along your route every 350 miles or less.

Your official ride duration is determined from the starting and ending DBRs.  PLEASE check these documents and make sure the time and date are correct!

You may qualify for additional IBA Certifications during this ride.  Go here for information about nesting rides.

Spotwalla.com is required.

If you cannot get a DBR, you must take a picture, including your motorcycle, to PROVE you were in each location.  Remember it is YOUR responsibility to prove your starting point, route, and ending point.  Spotwalla goes a long way towards this proof.
